Oculoplastics refers to a large range of ophthalmic procedures concerned with the eyelids, tear ducts, orbits and the face. Example procedures include: Blepharoplasty, a procedure to remove excess skin or fat from the eyelids; Ptosis, a procedure to repair a drooped eyelid; Dacryocystorhinostomy, which involves restoring the flow of tears from the eye to the nose; and Enucleation/Evisceration which involves the removal of the eye or its contents following trauma or disease.
